Heat a heavy pot over medium-high heat. Add the oil. Add onions and sauté for about 8 min.
Mix in the espresso powder, chili powder, cumin and cook for 1 min.
Add tomatoes, honey and garlic. Bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and simmer for 30 min.
Add the beans, 1 C water, salt and cinnamon.
Increase the heat to high and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered and stirring often, for about 30 min, or until mixture thickens a bit more.
